Skeleton of woman found in Clifton house

KARACHI: The remains of a woman were found from a house in Clifton on Saturday, police said.

They said that the police rushed to the spot after receiving information from a man, who told the police that he suspected there was a `thief` inside the house.

When the police arrived there, they saw the skeleton lying in the kitchen of the residence.

South SSP Imran Qureshi said that the house was closed for the last seven months after it was bought by a property dealer, Mohammed Ahmed Aslam.

The corpse was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Clifton SHO Pir Shabbir Haider, quoting the doctors, said that it was a skeleton of woman, and it appeared that the body had lain there for around two-three months.

Another human skeleton was found from bushes near DumlotiRoad-8 on Kathore Link Road off Superhighway on Saturday evening, according to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson.

It was shifted to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth.

Four held, over Rs50m looted cash recovered The Korangi police on Saturday claimed to have arrested four suspects from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunhwa and recovered over Rs50 million cash from them.

The driver had taken away the cash van of Askari Security company on Sept 19.

Speaking at a press conference at his office, Korangi SSP Hassan Sardar said with the help of technology, the police arrested one suspect Zain from Punjab who is brother of the main suspect, Zohaib, the cash van driver. On his pointatioin, three more suspects namely Hamid, Atta Rehman and Irfan were apprehended from Haripur Hazara, and the police recovered 55,500,000 from them.

Man shot dead A 54-year-old man was shot dead in Saudabad on Saturday.

Saudabad police SHO Mohammed Ali Nizai said that Mohammed Arif was riding a motorbike when unknown suspects intercepted him near Railway Line in Moinabad. After a chat, the suspects shot and killed him. The officer claimed that they did not take away anything from him. The police were investigating the motive of the murder. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

14 Afghan nationals held in Clifton Police carried out a combing operation in Neelam Colony in Clifton and arrested 14 `illegal` Afghan immigrants, officials said.

During the operation, entry and exit points of the area were sealed and credentials of the people sitting at restaurants were checked with the help of Talash app.

During the action, more than 40 suspects were interrogated and 14 of them, all Afghan nationals, were arrested as they did not possess valid identity documents. -Staff Reporter
