Lalcki Marwat schools to get furniture

LAKKI MARWAT: The government schools will get furniture worth Rs90 million before the commencement of the new academic session next year.

This was announced by deputy commissioner Mohammad Bakhtiar while speaking at the teacher talent award distribution ceremony at the district headquarters complex, Tajazai, on Tuesday.

The deputy commissioner distributed appreciation certificates among the heads and teachers of 11 high and higher secondary schools.

The heads also received Rs100,000 each while seven teachers from each school got Rs50,000 under teacher talent award programme of the provincial government.

Mr Bakhtiar said a huge chunk of funds under conditional grant had been provided to the parent-teacher councils for making available missing facilities in schools. He directed schools` heads to ensure transparent utilisation of funds on genuine needs of students.

`During surprise inspection visits to around 90 per cent schools I found teachers present and engaged in teaching activities,` he maintained, adding that attendance of teachers produced shining results in examinations.

The deputy commissioner called upon the teachers to make their students good human beings by building their character and imparting them quality education.

He also urged the teachers to promote tolerance and eradicate social evils from society.
