LAHORE: Journalists and media workers on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against layoffs in media organisations andnon-paymentofsalaries.

On the call of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), journalists and other employees of different media houses also participated in protest camp outside the Lahore Press Club as part of a country-wide protest series.

PFUJ Finance Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Mehtu, Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) President Qamar Zaman Bhatti, APNEC-Lahore Chairman Mansoor Malik and others spoke on the occasion.

Representatives of HRCP and different trade union also joined the protest to express solidarity with the journalist community. Staff Reporter
