Judgement deferred

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday deferred the judgement in a case pertaining to the murder of a citizen by a soldier of the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, till July 16 as the case was transferred to another court.

Shahzad Masih, a sepoy of the Pakistan Rangers, has been charged with killing Ghulam Haider after the latter`s vehicle hit a motorcyclist in Shah Faisal Colony in June 2013.

Following the trial, the ATC-I had reserved the verdict for pronouncement till Feb 25, 2014. However, since then the judgement has been repeatedly postponed.

The apexcourthad asked the trial court to decide the case within seven days after taking its cognizance.

As the case was sent to the ATC-IV for trial, the court will rehear final arguments.
