Man, son shot dead in Pak Colony

KARACHI: A 42-year-old man and his 14-year-old son were shot dead in Pak Colony on Tuesday evening, the police said.

They added that when Akbar Magsi and his son Taj Mohammed left their home in Jahanabad to buy food for Iftar, armed motorcyclists attacked them and fled, said SITE SP Fida Hussain Janwari.

The victims were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

Since an ambulance could not reach the crime scene due to a severe traffic jam in the area, the victims were taken to hospital in a police van of the Kalakot police station, the police added. However, they died on their way to hospital on Jameela Street near Cheel Chowk.

The double murder appeared to be anoutcome of some personal enmity, the Site SP said and added that the suspects had been identified.

Man shot dead by robber A 20-year-old man was shot dead in Manghopir by a suspected robber over resisting a mugging attempt on Tuesday, the police said.

They added that Ahmed Khan Mehsud with his friend Rehmanullah was on his way to his general store in Mushki Para on a motorcycle when a robber intercepted them.

The robber snatched the motorbike from him and opened fire when he put up resistance. The suspect also beat up Rehman before fleeing on the snatched motorcycle.

The wounded Khan was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
