ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) lifted over 55`000 entrails of sacrificial animals during the first two days of Eid` which were later disposed of in 30 ditches in 18 different spots of the city.

To ensure effective cleaning` the CDA divided the city into four zones and more than 2`000 sanitary workers` including sweepers` supervisory staff` contractor`s staff and officers` participated in the cleanliness drive.

The civic body even used more than 100 vehicles` including tractors with trolleys` to lift and dispose of animal waste.

During the emergency operation on Eidul Azha` lime powder was sprinkled and applied to garbage trolleys and sacrificial places` while more than 100 citizens lodged complaints with the CDA helpline number for early lifting of offal.
