THE shortlisted candidates for the 2024-26 Lady Health Visitor (LHV) diploma course in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)were interviewed on Sept 30 at various public health schools. During the interviews, the candidates were informed that those who were finally selected would be contacted by telephone for further instructions to visit their respective schools. The list of selected candidates was subsequently sent to the provincial director-general of health for approval, but the final list is still pending, and no final notification has been issued so far.
This delay has caused confusion and anxiety among the successful candidates, as they now harbour doubts about their future in the programme. They are concerned that the delay might lead to them losing this valuable opportunity to join the diploma course. Moreover, the uncertainty may force them to miss chances for admission to other educational institutions for further studies.
The KP government should take immediate action and expedite the approval process for the selected candidates. It is crucial to address the issue without any further delay to ensure that the deserving candidates do not lose this opportunity.
