KARACHI: Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party (PJDP) president and former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that his party would fully participate in the coming elections and snatch power from thieves.

The former chief justice, who was addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Sunday, in reply to a question said that the possibility to have electoral alliance with other parties would also be considered when the time comes.

After Nawaz Sharif`s name appeared in the Panama Leaks, Chaudhry said that the prime minister is no more `Amin and Sadiq,` and according to the Article 62-63 of theConstitution, he could not even remain a member of the National Assembly.

`As for the three friends of Asif Ali Zardari who were missing, only Zardari can tell us about them.

In response to another question the PJDP chief said that if Imran Khan could be the prime minister, he would have become during the 120 day sit in.

As far Pakistan is concerned, he said, rulers have been for long imposing themselves but the circumstances of the people had not changed. The people have no bread to eat, no clothes and no house to take shelter in, he added.

In Sindh, he claimed, there are no rulers but only wolves. The corruption in Sindh is to the extent that Rs2 billion were allocated for development work in Larkana but no one knewwhere the funds were spent.

In reply to another question Chaudhry said that the Supreme Court could not take suo moto notice itself against Altaf Hussain; it is the responsibility of the federal government to register an FIR against the enemy of the country, he said.

He also accused Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf of committing treason.

Chaudhry also shed light on his judicial judgment of July 31, 2009, which, he claimed, had closed the door of imposition of martial law in the country for all time to come.

He spoke about the `gabza group` which is active in Karachi and either takes over parks and other precious land in the city or plans to occupy them.
