MULTAN: A youngster committed suicide on Sunday after killing three people including the girl he wanted to marry.

Police said Atiqur Rehman, 21, a resident of Khushab, wanted to tie the knot with Nasreen, a resident of Jalalpur Pirwala, through telephone. Initially, police said, the girl agreed to marry the youngster but she gave in to family pressure and refused to go by her word.

Rehman on Sunday visited the house of Nasreen and requested her father Muhammad Rafique to let her marry him but the family asked him to leave the house. Rehman opened an indiscriminate fire killing Nasreen, her brother Asif and father Rafique on the spot. Nasreen`s mother Shamim, sister Sana and brothers Saleem and Nadeem were injured.

Rehman also shot himself dead.

Police and Rescue 1122 teams shifted the bodies to morgue and the injured to hospital.
