RAWA LPINDI: Turkmenistan`s Minister of Defence and National Security Council Secretary Colonel General Berdiyev Yaylym Yagmyrovich called on the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters on Thursday.

At the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest and the security situation in the region, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations press release.Earlier upon arrival, Turkmenistan`s defence minister laid a wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shuhada after being presented with guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Army.

Meanwhile, Japan`s Special Representative to the United Nations Secretary General for Afghanistan, Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto, also called on the COAS to discuss peace and stability in Afghanistan.-Reporter
