BUNER: Four persons of a family were gunned down and four others injured by their rivals here on Wednesday.

One of the attackers was also killed in the firing by his accomplices.

Eyewitnesses said the victims hailing from Shangla district were going to Swari in Buner to see off a newlymarried couple going to Karachi when their rivals ambushed their vehicle, forcing the inmates to get off the van in Chaghorzai area.

Later, the attackers started firing at them, killing four men and injuring four others. During the firing an attacker was also killed and another was injured. The police captured theinjured attacker.

The victims were identified as Noorul Hadi, UmerRahman, Mohammad Rahim and Bakht Zamin, while the injured included Ghulam Rahim, Sadiq Zaman, Anwar Ali and eight-year-old Chand Bibi.

The eyewitnesses said the attackers,includingShamsur Rehman, Saifur Rehman, Naseeb Bar Khan, Sakhi Bahadur and Dilawar Khan, dragged out the victims from the pickup and shot at them from point blank.

The dead attacker was identified as Dilawar Khan, while the attacker arrested in injured condition was identified as Sakhi Bahadaur. The bodies and the injured were shifted to DHQ hospital Daggar, said officials of Gulbandi police station. An injured, Anwar Ali, was referred to Peshawar in critical condition.-Correspondent
