SUKKUR: Shikarpur police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against a local landlord on court`s directives after they found a 13-year-old girl in illegal captivity during a raid on his bungalow a few days before.

Police at the 20-Mile police station said that they had registered the FIR against Sardar Ghazi Aman Mangnejo on a complaint lodged by the girl`s mother, Gulzar Khatoon Mangnejo.

They said: `On the directives of the sessions court, they raided the bungalow of Ghazi Aman on Dec 9 and recovered the girl, a resident of Gaheja village.`They said that when her parents found no other recourse or anyone to help them rescue the girl, Gulzar Khatoonmoved an application to the sessions court on Dec 4 through her counselandinvokeditsjurisdiction in the matter.

Police said that earlier, police officials of the Women and Children Protection Cell, had produced the victim before the sessions judge who handed her back to their custody till Monday.

When she was produced again on Monday in the court, the judge, before handing her over to her parents, ordered them to assure the court in writing that she would not be harmed in anyway while in their custody.

They added that the court ordered the police to register the FIR against the kidnapper.

Sources said Sardar Mangnejo had kidnapped the girl and kept her as hostage for about threemonths in the bungalow and subjected her to torture as its marks were visible on her body.

They said the victim`s mother mentioned in her application that Ghazi Aman wanted to marry her girl and he had also offered Rs500,000 in cash to her for the purpose.

When she refused, the Sardar stormed her house with his men, forcibly took away the girl and incarcerated her in his bungalow, she said.

The sources believed that the girl might have been sexually assaulted besides being subjected to torture.

The victim`s counsel advocate Mir Chachar told local journalists that the alleged landlord was 65-year-old and the girl was barely 13 years.
