LARKANA: The sixth additional sessions judge Irfan Ujjan on Tuesday ordered registration of an FIR against the SHO of Bagapur police station and imposed on him fine of Rs100,000 for keeping a shopkeeper in wrongful confinement and demanding bribe.

According to details, Aijaz Ahmed Rind, a resident of the Allahabad locality, approached the district andsessions judge through his counsel, accusing that SHO Abdul Ghafoor Mughiri had picked up his brother Gulbahar Rind from the general store. He kept him in detention and demanded bribe of Rs100,000.

The judge appointed a raid commissioner to locate the detainee. He discovered Gulbahar Rind in wrongful confinement during his visit to the Bagapur police station.

On Tuesday, the SHO and recovered detainee were presented before the court of the sixth additional sessions judge. During the proceedings, the charges against the SHO were proved. The court ordered registering an FIR against the SHO and fined him.

Muhammed Qasim Kanasro, counsel for the complainant, said that on Dec 8, the SHO arrested Gulbahar from his shop and kept him at the police station illegally.-Our Correspondent
