Soko Saag a popular dish in Shangla

SHANGLA: People here like eating leafy vegetables known as `Soko Saag and Gandolai` grown mostly inside houses.
The vegetable is also being sold in the markets of Bisham which is brought by venders from their houses in Shang, Batkoot and otherareasin the suburbs.
`People can afford buying Soko Saag which is liked by the poor and rich alike,` said Abdul Salam, a customer in Bisham.
He said that a small bundle of the vegetable could be bought at Rs10 in the local bazaars. `People in our village come to our house for buying the leafy vegetables and we two brothers also sell the saag in the bazaar. Such vegetables are grown by my mother outside our house in helds in Shang village,` said Ajmal Khan, a youngpushcartvender.
He said that they had been earning a handsome amount by selling 400 bundles of saag dailybefore Iftar. Mr Hussain, a buyer, said that the leafy vegetable was easy to cook and it was lil(ed for itsfreshness and taste.
Dr Sanaullah said that the leafy vegetables had zero cholesterol and were full of vitamins, nbers and other nutrients like folic acid and potassium, etc.
SOLAR LIGHTS: People of Alpuri have complained that the newly-installed solar lights have stopped working one year after their installation. They told media persons here on Tuesday that they had to move in the darkness because of failure of the lighting system installed by the tehsil administration. They demanded of the government to take immediate steps for repair and maintenance of the lighting system.
Meanwhile, MPA Shaukat Yousafzai said that a project for reconstruction of Karora-Ajmeer road has been approved and the work would start soon.
Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said that the project had been included in thecoming annual development plan. He claimed that he hadalso suggested tehsil status for Kana valley.
