PESHAWAR: On the recommendations of the departmental selection board the competent authority has promoted six deputy superintendents of police (executive/legal BS-17) to the rank of superintendents of police (BS-18) on regular basis with an immediate effect.

A statement issued here said that the promoted officers included Abdul Saboor, Gul Zarin, Iftikhar Ahmad, Sanaullah, Izhar Ahmad and Azizur Rehman. It said the promoted officers would remain on probation for one year.

Meanwhile, provincial police chief Nasir Khan Durrani ordered the transfer and posting of two SPs and three DSPs. SP Rab Nawaz awaiting posting at Central Police Office (CPO) has been posted as director Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and director FSL Iftikharuddin transferred and posted as SP enquiry and inspection at CPO.

DSP headquarters, Bannu, Inayat Ali Shah and DSP headquarters Dera Ismail Khan Shabbir Hussain have been transferred to the Counter Terrorism Department, and DSP security, Peshawar, Rehmatullah transferred and posted as SDPO Regi.

Separately, the KP police chief suspended DSP Noor Mohammad, working at Khyber Teaching Hospital, and ordered departmental action against him over irresponsible behaviour. Also, the establishment department notified transfer of Ikramullah (BS-20), special secretary health department. He has been asked to report to the establishment department.-Bureau Report
