LAHORE: Just a few days after pledging to campaign for the implementation of the intra-party election tribunal`s decisions, Advocate Hamid Khan seems to have changed his mind as he affirmed allegiance to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

`I`ll deal with issues within the party,` was what he said when Dawn contacted him to l
He had announced a campaignfor the implementation of the tribunal`s decisions at an Insaf Markaz meeting on Aug 1 last. On Thursday, he refused to even acknowledge that he had announced launching any campaign. He said he was a committed and loyal worker of the party and could not even think of making any group within the party.

`The opportunists in the party are launching propaganda that a splinter group is being established, he alleged.

Sources said PTI chairman Imran Khan had briefly stopped in Lahore on Aug 5 and met Barrister HammadAzhar and MPA ticket-holder Muhammad Madni along with Jahangir Tareen, Chaudhry Sarwar and other leaders and expressed his resolve that the issues would be dealt within the party. Barrister Azhar and Mr Madni were earlier also present at a gathering hosted by party`s Insaf Markaz in Lahore on Aug 1.

Meanwhile, Justice Wajihuddin has reportedly decided to part ways with the party and plans to hold a news conference to unfold his future plans on Independence Day.

The PTI had started its movement for establishing `Naya Pakistan` in August last year.

It is learnt that PTI Punjab organiser Chaudhry Sarwar, on the instructions of the chairman, met Justice Wajiuhddin to win him back.

At a meeting, Mr Sarwar reportedly sought time to help resolve the differences.

Justice Wajihuddin remained reluctant and is planning to carry on with his plans.

Advocate Hamid Khan also expressed his ignorance about Justice Wajihuddin`s plan of holding a press conference.
