Three injured in wild boar attack

NAROWAL: Three people, including women, have been injured in a wild boar attack in Sukhuchak village near the Indian-occupied Kashmir in Shakargarh tehsil on Sunday.

As per details, the wild boar entered the village and attacked the residents. A local woman,Khalida Bibi, was taking her goat to the fields when the boar attacked her. She sustained severe injuries to both her arms during the attack.

Bushra Bibi and Muhammad Ashraf were also injured in the attack.

The injured were shifted to the Shakargarh THQ Hospital for first aid and medical treatment.

Panic spread in the village following reports ofthe attacks and women and children confined themselves indoors for safety.

Following an announcement at the local mosque, a large number of residents emerged from their homes armed with sticks and iron rods.

The residents, assisted by hunting dogs, cornered the wild boar and killed the animal.Local residents Muhammad Naeem and Arif Hussain stated that they had made multiple calls to the Narowal wildlife department, however, the department failed to respond or take any action to capture the wild animal.

They explained that, duetothelackofresponse, the locals were forced to kill the animal themselves.
