LAHORE: A Pakistani agricultural technology startup is expanding into North and Latin American markets and plans to establish its headquarters in New York.
Farmevo Technologies, which raised $2.5 million from New York-based Gutter Capital in 2025, already has a presence in the US, Canada and Latin America.
Founded on a 300-acre farm in 2024 outside Karachi by Ali Fawad, Habab Idress and Rana Waqar, Farmevodevelops software that uses low-cost drones to autonomously survey farmland and convert aerial imagery into alerts.
The company was established to address an information gap on large farms, where crop stress, weeds and diseases can often go unnoticed until they cause significant losses.
The company`s first major client was Corteva Agriscience, which used its technology to detect anomalies affecting seed purity in fields.
BASF Agricultural Solutions, a global food and beverage company in Pakistan, Bayer CropScience andMcCain Foods are among its clients.
Fawad told Dawn that the firm`s revenue increased more than tenfold between 2024 and 2025.
The company now has enterprise clients in three countries and employs more than 30 people across engineering, research, sales and field operations.
Last year it launched SylvaSense, a platform for forest surveying, which has since grown to account for nearly half of the company`s revenue.
According to the company, foresters using SylvaSense have reported reducing survey times by up to 40pc andcosts by up to 30pc compared with manualground surveys.
The startup is now seeking to move beyond drones and develop software that can serve as the operating intelligence for autonomous robots.
It believes robots will become increasingly affordable and widespread in the coming years, much like drones.
The company says its longer-term ambition is to provide the software `brain` that enables robots to perform specialised tasks, initially in agriculture and forestry before expanding into other applications.
