LAHORE: The Multan Development Authority has registered 148 cases against the owners of 196 illegal housing societies in a city-wide crackdown.

The MDA had declared 196 housing societies illegal in different zones of the city, including 130 in the North Zone and 75 in South Zone. The societies were selling files without getting proper approval from the authorities and also violat-ing different rules.

The MDA officials identified 196 illegal housing societies and registered 148 cases against their owners in different police stations of the city.

They urged citizens to avoid investing in these schemes and to verify the approval status of housing societies with the MDA before making any investments. Staff Reporter
