MIRPURKHAS: Senior Sindh Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will hold a large public meeting at Gama Stadium here on Jan 5 next year on the occasion of birth anniversary of the party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zard-ari would address the public meeting, which would prove to be a great success, said Mr Khuhro while speaking at a press conference at Jilani House here on Thursday.

He criticised the statement of National Assembly speaker expressing doubts about the parIlament`s future and said that conspiracies were being hatched against democracy but democratic powers always succeeded in fight-ing them off with the help of people.

He said that census had no legal status unless the government issued a notification in this regard.

Perhaps the month of April was chosen for census process to get six months more, he said.

Mr Khuhro belittled position of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf as compared to PPP in the province and said the party failed to attract masses in local government elec-tions and would hopefully do the same in general elections next year.

He said that no party had thus far created as catchy a slogan as that of PPP`s `roti, kapra aur makan` which was on the lips of every person.

PPP lived in people`s hearts and the Sindh government was trying its hardest to provide all basic facilities to masses at their doorsteps without any discrimina-tion, he said.

Earlier, Mr Khuhro discussed preparations for the planned public gathering during a meeting with former MNA Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani, MNA Pir Shafgat Shah Jilani, Senator Hari Ram Kishori Lai, chairman of Mirpurkhas District Council Mir Anwer Ali Khan Talpur, former MPA Shamim Ara Panhwar, MPA Haji Noor Ahmed Bhurgari and MPA Mir Haji Hayat Talpur.
