Gilani`s return
2016-05-16
THE Gilani family and the PPP are celebrating the return of Ali Haider Gilani from the long captivity of his savage captors as if he has returned as a conqueror.
One can imagine the law and order situation in the country that in broad daylight the son of an ex-prime minister is kidnapped in his hometown, and kept at various hideouts near Faisalabad for one month before he is shifted to Waziristan and then to Afghanistan. This is a classic example of the so-called good governance of our civil law-enforcement agencies.
While there are celebrations, Ali`s father has been facing 26 corruption cases being investigated by NAB and FIA. On the other hand, his brotherhas beenin the spotlight because ofthe PakistanInsurance Corporation scandal.
The high and mighty must understand that if they continue to become rich by exploiting this poor nation, such incidents will increase in the future.
It is time the nation broke the unholy alliance of corrupt mafias operating in politics, business and governance and elected dedicated, educated andhonest people to change the destiny of this nation.
We have already wasted six decades in the hope for building an egalitarian society.
