KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Dr Imran Ali Shah late on Tuesday visited the home and apologised to the man he had physically assaulted, whose assault video had gone viral on social media.

Dr Shah came in a tight spot when his video went viral, showing him intercepting a car and beating up its driver surrounded by his armed guards on main Stadium Road just a day after taking oath as a member of the Sindh Assembly.

Late on Tuesday night Dr Shah visited the home of Dawood Chohan, the man whom he had thrashed. Dr Shah was accompanied by senior PTI leader Shamim Naqvi and offered Mr Chohan his apology.

Later, a video was sharedby Dr Shah on social media showing him hugging Mr Chohan and offering his apology. In another post Dr Shah posted pictures with the man and his son.

`I never wanted to take law in my hand. However it was in a spur of the moment that I momentarily lost my cool and reacted in a way that brought embarrassment to my position, my party and my supporters, he wrote in his posts.

`Thereby, I sincerely and unconditionally apologise to Mr Dawood and my voters and supporters for my behaviour. I hope that you all will accept my apology and I promise to observe conduct thatis expected of me both morally and officially by the party`s code of conduct.`-Staff Reporter
