KHAIRPUR: The advance studies and research board of the Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu), Khairpur, at its 61st meeting recommended PhD degrees for two researchers Imtiaz Ahmed Pirzada (economics) and Noor Hussain Chandio (geography) and MS/ MPhil degrees for 55 researchers, says a press statement issued here on Friday.
The meeting, presided over by SaluVice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah, took several decisions and approved the action taken by the VC under the powers vested in her under Section 14(3) of the University Act, 1986. The board also gave its approval for extension in research period allowed to scholars.
The meeting noted that more than 3,000 researchers had been registered with Salu`s directorate of postgraduatestudies in the MS, MPhil and PhD courses. The VC told the meeting that the directorate had been streamlined on scientific lines as per the Higher Education Commission criterion.
The board recommended approval tosynopses submittedby138researchers seeking their MS, MPhil and PhD degrees in various fields.
