LAHORE: The government will foot the bill for the medical treatment of renowned stage comedian Javald Kodu.
`Javaid Kodu is a great artist and an asset who has spent his whole life to bring smile on the faces of people while ignoring personal miseries,` said Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khwaja Salman Rafiq after visiting the comedian who was operated upon for stomach ulcer at the Lahore General Hospital.
The minister directed the hospital administration to provide all facilities and special care to the ailing artist.
Earlier, General Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Shabbir informed the minister that Javaid Kodu had been a chronic patient of stomach ulcer.
Prof of Surgery Dr Afsar Ali Bhatti said the ulcer had ruptured due to which emergency operation had to be performed.
