CHINIOT: Funeral prayers of slain MQM district vicepresident Asghar Ali were offered here at Tehsil Chowk on Thursday.

City police have meanwhile lodged an FIR against three unknown armed men under murder and terrorism charges.

Asghar Ali left behind five daughters and a widow.

Talking to media, Punjab MQM leader Atig Ahmad and members of Rabita Committee Gulzar Khattak and MNA Sajid Ahmad said that MQM workers were being targeted in Punjab.

They said the murder of MNA Tahira Asif in Lahore; Bao Anwar in Siallcot and now Asghar Ali clearly suggested that the party was being targeted. They alleged the Punjab government was not making sincere efforts to apprehend the killers.
