Couple dies, three children injured in Nooriabad accident

DADU: A couple was killed and their three children travelling with them in a car were injured when the four-wheeler hit an oil-tanker and overturned near Nooriabad along M-9 Motorway in the wee hours of Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Mr Altaf and Yasmin Altaf and their injured children as Mahnoor, Atif and Fatima. The family resided in Nazimabad, Karachi, according to the Motorway police.

All the injured persons were admitted to a hospital in Nooriabad for treatment.

The oil tanker also overturned due to the collision and as a result oil spilled over the road. Several other vehicles also went out of their drivers` control while plying on the slippery portion of the road. Five occupants of some of these vehicles were injured.

Personnel from Motorway and regular police dumped earth on the affected portion of the road, which remained closed to traffic for a few hours.

The couple`s bodies were sent to their home in Karachi, according to the Jamshoro SSP.

Accident near Sehwan A man was killed and three other persons were injured when a Datsun pick-up overturned near Sehwan on Indus Highway on Sunday.

According to the Sehwan SHO, the vehicle was on its way to Sehwan from Bhan city when its driver lost control over it due to overspeeding.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Khaskheli and the injured persons as Arbab, Khan Mohammad and Bilawal, all Khaskheli by caste.

The condition of Arbab was stated to be critical.

The victims were shifted to the Syed Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical and Health Sciences hospital in Sehwan.
