CIA officer removed for patronising crime

SUKKUR: Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon has removed Sukkur CIA in-charge DSP Abdul Sattar Phull after an inquiry found him guilty of patronising crime dens in the district.

According to sources, Sukkur SSP Singhar Malik had conducted an inquiry against DSP Phull over the last few weeks and filed his report to the IGP.

The report said DSP Phull was found to have been maintaining secret contacts with criminals in the district. It specified that the DSP was patronising gambling and drugs dens functioning within his jurisdiction.

Another serious allegation proved against him in the probe was that DSP Phull had set free a notorious dacoit, Safeer Jatoi, under a monetary deal.

Taking action on the basis of the report, the IG removed the DSP and stripped him of his powers and facilities.
