LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in a message issued on the occasion of her 73rd birth anniversary.
The chief minister said Benazir Bhutto was a symbol of democracy and political stability and rendered remarkable services for the democratic process in the country, says a handout.
She said that PPP leader played a significant role in ensuring participation of women in politics and worked for greater representation of women in the political sphere.
She observed that Benazir Bhutto’s courage and commitment to democracy were unparalleled and described her as one of the most prominent figures in Pakistan’s political history.
