PESHAWAR: Following courts orders, municipal administration town -III sealed several guest houses, restaurants, and beauty parlours in residential area of University Town here on Thursday.

The guest houses and other commercial outlets which were sealed include Inter-Con Inn at Rehmat Baba Road, Shelton Laylina, Noble guest house and Rivoli guest house at Abdara Road and Eaden guest house.

Some of the beauty parlours that were also sealed include Teplex male, Teplex female, Snow Ba Beauty Parlour and Blossom.

An official said that these commercial outlets were sealed in the first phase while the rest would be sealed on completion of period of notices to the owners/managers concerned.

The drive, he said, would continue on daily basis.

He said that carrying out commercial activities in residential localities was banned, but the drive against them was launched when the locals moved the Peshawar High Court for implementation of the bylaws.

The current operation, he said, was supervised by TownIII nazim Arbab Mohammad Ali and TMO Ihsanullah. He said that heavy contingent of police had been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, the district administration in collaboration with the health department conducted raids in Pepal Mandi and arrested four people for dealing in banned medicines. The administration also sealed their shops and registered cases against them. According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the sale of banned medicines was also on rise in Karkhano Market where raids would be conducted soon.Bureau Report
