Three arrested for looting pilgrims

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested Nazar Mohammad, Waqas and Abdullah Jan for their alleged involvement in cheating scores of Haj pilgrims and depriving them of approximately Rs20 million.

According to a statement issued by NAB here on Thursday, the accused persons were running a travel agency in the name of Afridi Hajj and Umrah Services Private Ltd, Peshawar. They collected approximately Rs340, 000 to Rs380,000 per pilgrim in the garb of private Haj facility.

The affected people were made to go through the entire Haj application process. They were given different dates for flight and when they reached the airport they found out that accused persons had deprived them of their hard earned money.—Bureau Report
