B A H A W A L P U R : Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar has directed the local government and municipal officials to fix the water filtration plants to provide relief to the citizens.

The commissioner in a surprise inspection of water filtration plants in the commercial area of Satellite Town, Dewanwali Pulli and other places found some of the plants out of order. He learnt that these plants had not been working for the last couple of months and people were forced to bring the potable water from far-off places.

Mr Anwar directed the officials to ensure that the plants were in working condition at the earliest.

He also visited Airport Road and took notice of faulty sewerage system due to which residents, traders and road users had been f acing a great deal of inconvenience for the last more thanone year. He directed the of ficials of the Metropolitan Corporation and the Bahawalpur Waste Management Company (BWMC) to complete the work of road and underground sewerage.

People of Fauji Basti areas along the road have complained about the sewage time and again but no one has redressed their grievance.

ROTI SALE POINTS: Lodhran Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Abbas Shirazi has announced opening of 17 sales points of `sasti` roti and naan all over the district.

The DC said roti and naan would be available to people at Rs6 and Rs9, respectively.

He said seven sales points hadbeensetup inLodhran while five each would be functionalinKahrore Pucca and Dunyapur tehsils.

He asked the price magistrates to ensure the sale of roti and naan having standard weight otherwise the violators would be penalised.
