E-registry system for land transactions launched in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday launched the e-registry system for land transactions in Mansehra district.

‘Mansehra has become the 14th district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the digital e-registry system has been introduced to make land transfers more accurate and efficient, ending fraudulent practices,’ deputy commissioner Khalid 1qbal Khattak told the inaugural ceremony held here.

Officials from the revenue department also attended the ceremony. Mr Khattak said that e-transfer was a people-friendly digital system that would help end discrepancies and fraud in the land transfer and record system.

‘Earlier, landowners, buyers and sellers used to face lengthy procedures for transferring and maintaining land records,’ he said.

‘Senior Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Revenue Zahir Shah has played a pivotal role in introducing the e-governance system in Mansehra’s revenue department, which would reduce complaints, land record tampering and ensure swift and accurate transactions,’ Mr Khattak said.

BA1L CANCELLED: A judge on Wednesday cancelled the transit bails of seven persons and ordered their arrest for trespassing into reserved forests and for illegally digging to get precious minerals, damaging trees in the Dadar area. Additional Sessions Judge-111, after hearing arguments from the district prosecu-tor and counsel of the petitioners, cancelled their transit bails and ordered their arrest.

‘Earlier, we raided an area to arrest all the accused who were involved in illegal mining of precious stones and damaging the forest, but they managed to flee.

Now, the court has cancelled their bail, and we have arrested them,’ Shinkiari police SHO Mohammad Tariq told reporters.

He said the police had booked the accused under different sections of the relevant law earlier this month.

SHO Tariq said Mohammad Ashraf, Abid Shah, Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Haroon and Mohammad Adil were residents of Dadar in Siren Valley.

He said that a forest department official had approached the police after witnessing illegal activities in the dense Basala forests. He said illegal exploitation of minerals would not be allowed anywhere in the forests, as it also damages trees.

Meanwhile, the Mansehra tehsil municipal administration has removed temporary and permanent encroachments from bazaars.

A team led by encroachment inspector Mohammad Iqbal removed handcarts and stalls from Abbottabad, Shinkiari and Kashmir roads and shifted them to the TMA’s godowns.

The team also warned shopkeepers of strict action if they placed goods outside their shops and business centres again, as it creates hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic and pedestrian movement. Correspondent
