SUKKUR: A passenger train hit three vehicles a tractor-driven trolley transporting sugarcane stock, a car and a motorcycle at the Dubber crossing, some 16 kilometres from Rohri, on Friday leaving one person dead and three others injured.

The vehicles were crossing the track when the Lahore-bound Awam Express passed through the unmanned crossing hitting them.

Asif aka Abdul Sami Machi and his brother Khadim Machi, who were riding the motorcycle, tractor driver Sharif Chachar and car driver Riaz Qureshi were injured in the accident. The two brothers were rushed to the Pannu Aqil Taluka Hospital, where Asif succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Chachar was admitted to the CMH Hospital, Pannu Aqil and Mr Qureshi to the Rohri Taluka Hospital.

Some of the train passengers also received minor injuries.
