LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) imposed on Friday a Rs1 million fine on a food company for including a considerable quantity of margarine in butter production and not mentioning visible instructions with a warning on the label.
According to a spokesman for the PFA, the firm has also been restricted from advertising in print and electronic media for the sale promotion of its butter products.
A press release by the authority said the margarine leaves bad impacts on the public health, in general, and children`s growth, in particular.
If the company failed to follow the PFA instructions in the future, its production would be halted.
