Rickshaw driver found shot dead

LAHORE: A rickshaw driver was found shot dead in a graveyard in Salamatpura on Friday.
Police said Karamat Shah left his house on Thursday afternoon and did not return. Some passersby alerted police when they saw a body in the graveyard on Friday noon.
Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy where the heirs identified him.
Police registered a murder case against unidentified people on the complaint of Karamat`s widow.
Investigation in charge Nabi Bakhsh, quoting the widow, said Karamt received a phone call at around 11am and left the house to meet someone.
He would pick and drop schoolchildren in the rickshaw and in the evening, he would run a fruit shop at Lal Pull in Mughalpura.
The body bore the marks of torture, his lips were sewn and legs and arms tied. The victim was also shot in the head, the investigating officer added.
