KARACHI: An FC soldier allegedly died of a poisonous substance in the Sohrab Goth area on Friday. Police said they were treating it as a murder.
`Ali Akbar, 50, was on his way to Karachi from his native town in Kohat when he started vomiting and fell on the ground after disembarking from a coach in Sohrab Goth, said Malir SSP Munir Ahmed Shaikh.
He was found unconscious on the Superhighway and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by an Edhi ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
Additional police surgeon Dr Saleem Shailch told Dawn that he died of a poisonous substance.
The SSP said it, prima facie, appeared that someone intoxicated him inside the bus for the purpose of looting him as his valuables were missing.
The senior officer said the police were treating it as a murder case and trying to trace the bus in which the victim travelled.
