TAXILA: Wah Saddar and Hassanabdal police on Thursday separately claimed to have busted two gangs and arrested their five members besides recovery of looted valuables and weapons from their possession.

Talking to newsmen here, Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Wah circle DSP Javaid Hassan said a team le d by Inspector Yasir Kiyani busted a three-member gang involved in robberies and recovered the looted items along with weapons utilised in criminal activities.

He said the gang was also involved in a robbery incident in which armed men snatched gold ornaments from two women in a street of Nawababad on Dec 23.

The SDPO said the arrested suspects were identified as Rizwan Ali, Adeeb Murtaza and Ali Raza.

He said the gang was also involved in robberies and street crimes in Haripur.

Addressing a press conference, SDPO Hassanabdal circle ASP Azhar Khan said acting on a tip-off a police team raided the hideout of robbers located at Patahrgarh Road. Correspondent
