LAHORE: Police on Friday arrested a woman who killed a minor boy and dumped his body in a suitcase to conceal her crime at Latif Chowk in Shahdara.

The police took her into custody after they recovered the body of class 5 student Tanzeel Ahmad, 11, from the suitcase which she had thrown in the store of her house.A senior police official said Tanzeel`s mother sent him to the house of the suspected woman in the neighbourhood on Thursday for some work.

When he didn`t come back, the family got perturbed and visited her house, but she told them that the boy had left her home a few minutes af ter his visit.

The family searched him everywhere but to no avail.

Boy`s father Agil AhmadButt later lodged a kidnap case with the police against unidentified people the same day.

The official said a police team was dispatched to investigate the matter. On failure to find him in the locality, the police visited the house ofthe suspected lady who got nervous during cross questioning.

Later, the police took her into custody on suspicion and duringinterrogation she unveiled that she had strangled Tanzeel and dumped his body in the suitcase. On her pointation, the police recovered the body of the boy.

To a question about the motive behind the murder, the police official said, she claimed that he was teasing her five-year-old daughter. However, the police were not satisfied with her claim.

He said further investigation was underway and it would be premature to say anything conclusive regarding the motive behind the murder.

The police official said the body of the boy had been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.
