Councillor joins ruling PML-N in Shangla

SHANGLA: An opposition member in the Puran tehsil council belonging to ANP has joined the PML-N which rules the district government in Shangla.

The announcement was made at a meeting in Nakhtaro area here the other day. PML-N MNA Dr Ibadullah Khan, who was the chief guest, said several members of ANP in the district and tehsil councils had already joined PML-N which showed that the party was gaining popularity in the district.

He said work on a number of projects in the district was underway which would be completed before the next general elections. Ibadullah said PTI-led government had no plan for development of the district. He claimed that PML-N would not only form government in the centre but also in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa af ter the 2018 general elections. The councillor had won his seat as an independent candidate and later joined the ANP, but now he has switched to PML-N.

GIRL KILLED: A girl was allegedly killed by her fatherin-law over a domestic issue in Serai Maira area of Bisham the other day.

SHO Khurshed Khan, in-charge of Dandai police station, told Dawn a report was registered on the complaint of the slain girl`s mother. According to her, father in law of the victim, 20, killed her over a domestic dispute.

The complainant said her daughter was married off a few months ago. Police said after carrying out autopsy of the body it was handed over to family, and a case was registered against the accused. Correspondent
