SUKKUR: The area in-charge of an anti-polio vaccinators` team was arrested after a rape case was lodged against him and one of his friends by a young colleague at the Civil Lines police station of Jacobabad on Friday.

The 14-year-old complainant told the police that while she was on duty in Mohalla Jafferabad, the in-charge led her to a house, which later turned out to be his friend`s, next door to administer polio drops to the children of the latter. She said the two youths then locked the door from inside and subjected her to criminal assault, adding that there was no other person present in the house.

The victim was accompanying her father when she lodged the FIR against the suspects.

The area in-charge was arrested and a hunt was on for the other suspect, according to the police.
