Burglars, thieves strike in city

ISLAMABAD: Burglars and thieves struck at two different places and made off with valuables, police said here on Wednesday.

In the first incident some burglars broke into the house of Arshad Ahsan, in F-10/4 and took away valuables worth Rs175,000.

In another incident, some auto-thieves lifted a Suzuki Mehran of Mohammad Waqas from the parking area of Polyclinic.

Meanwhile, the capital police have arrested eight outlaws besides recovering two bikes, narcotics, liquor and weapons, police said here on Wednesday.

The anti-car lifting cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 1.2 kg hashish from him.

The ACLC also recovered a stolen bike and arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in theft.

The Khanna police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in theft and recovered stolen bike from him, while the Loibher police arrested two persons for carrying weapons.

Separate cases have been registered and further investigations were in progress.
