HYDERABAD: Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi has said that those who are criticising Imran Khan never earned a single rupee in their life while the prime minister will not listen to anyliar.

He was speaking to journalists at Qasimabad Business Forum on Tuesday. PTI regional chairman Sadagat Ali Jatoi, general secretary Zulfiqar Shah and others were also present. Forum`s chief Rehmatullah Saand welcomed Naqvi.

He said that he failed to understand why the Sindh government was opposing development of islands because it had twice issued no-objection certificate for the islands.

He said that perhaps the Sindh government felt that it won`t get any `commission`inthis development. He said that ruling party in Sindh always benefitted and favoured its own people.

He said that decision on five per cent census block sampling was taken by the past government. He asked could anyone explain how the results of census 2017 could be corrected in 2020. He said that the only solution to this issue was that next census should be held as quickly as possible and such decision was also taken by the present federal cabinet.

He said that a committee was also formed in this regard under the ministry of information technology headed by an MQM minister.

He said that the agreement on census did not offer any solution to objections over census results.

He said that had there been any solution the same would have been presented before the committee which worked for five months on this subject. He said that this committee had taken the decision to finalise census results. He said that MQM`s minister Aminul Haq had written a dissenting note on this decision.

Mr Naqvi stated the only solution to this controversy was that next census should be held before 2027. He said that people weregroaning under price hike for which past rulers were responsible. He said that the PTI government was trying to cut current account deficit and strengthen economy.

Current steps of the PTI government are indeed troubling masses, but subsequently situation would change, he added.

He said that the PTI government was working on establishment of a university in Hyderabad which involved the issue of land allotment. He added that before questioning the federal government, the Sindh government should be asked first to explain why the land for this university was not being allotted.

The PTI government is interested in establishing the university, but the provincial government is creating obstacles in this matter.

He said that correct statistics were not available in the country and added that there were debts which were not shown but present government guaranteed them and when these loans were returned, the kitty was emptied. He said that the PTI government had to spend one year for getting correct statistics and then it took time to find some solutions.

He said that Imran Khan never said that he did not have preparation for forming thegovernment because Asad Umar, Razzaq Dawood, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen were experts in their respective sectors.

He said that only incompetent people were criticising Imran Khan and these inept people had destroyed Sindh in 13 years.

He said that these were the people who never earned a single rupee as they spent their lives by earning kickbacks. He said that those who were born with a gold spoon in their mouth were criticising Imran Khan.

He said that had the Sindh government been performing, people of Sindh would have been provided with clean drinking water, doctors in hospitals and irrigation water in tail-end of Sindh and the government would also have been getting required taxes. He said the PPP government did not work properly in 13 years.

He said that PTI was awaiting resignations of opposidon pardes because Dec 31 is approaching f ast.

He said that the PTI government distributed Rs63 billion under Ehsaas programme.

The entire world witnessed lockdown but Imran Khan took a different decision and emerged successful when compared with India and other countries, he concluded.
