By Our Staff Correspondent 2014-12-11
FAISALABAD: The bar went on a strike terming terrorism case against former law minister Rana Sanaullah and others bogus.

Sana along with State Minister for Water and Power Äbid Sher Ali, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, MPA Tahir Jamil and hundreds of others wasbookedbytheSamanabad police on Monday after the death of Nawaz.

The worker was gunned down on Novelty Bridge while he was protesting along with hundreds of others.

No arrests have been made so far.

Giving the reason for a strike, Bar Secretary Ijaz Ahmed said Sana had personally met him andinformed him about the PTI`s protest. He claimed Sana had assured him that he was neither directly nor indirectly involved in the killing of anyone and had been framed in the case.

He further said Sana had also talked to Bar President Tanvirur Rehman Randhawa and it was decided that a strike would be observed as the case was fake.

Justifying the strike, the secretary said the government`s approach towards the PTI protest was irresponsible as protest was the right of every citizen. He said the government had put country`s sovereignty at stake.

The bar condemned clashes between PML-N and PTI workers and demanded those responsible be taken to task.
