LAHORE: A spokesman for Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, in response to a news report regardingshortage ofsenior registrars at Mayo Hospital, says the department is working to fill the vacant slots in different specialties.

In a handout issued on Tuesday, the spokesman said an advertisement was published in newspapers on Dec 11, 2016, and after completing all formalities, interviews for the posts would be held on We dnesday (today) at King Edward Medical University/Mayo Hospital.

He said out of the 119 sanctioned posts of senior registrars, 42 were vacant.

He said earlier, advertisements were published twice in newspapers on May 6, 2016, and Aug25,2016,but no candidate appeared for them. Therefore, the posts were re-advertised on Dec 11, 2016.
