MARDAN: Father of a six-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in Bala Gari area here has demanded of the chief justice to take suo motu action in the case as the accused is an influential person.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, Syed Wali along with his relatives and other residents narrated his ordeal, saying his daughter was going to a nearby house to learn Quran when the accused took her to a deserted place and sexually assaulted her on April 22.
He said the officials of relevant police station had arrested the accused.
He claimed that the doctor at a local hospital had also confirmed in his medical report that the minorgirl was sexually assaulted.
Now, he said the medical report had been sent to Peshawar for further verification.
Wali, a fruit seller, said the accused belonged to an influential family, and expressed fear that the latter would change the medical report to their benefit.
He lamented that neither any lawmaker nor human rights activist visited his home to provide his family necessary assistance in this connection.
He, however, demanded of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take suo motu action in the case and award exemplary punishment to the accused.
He also demanded of the relevant authorities to charge the accused under 7-ATA. Correspondent
