ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in its third anti-encroachment operation during the last one month in Malpur area retrieved state land on Friday.

During this operation several illegally constructed shops, rooms, and other encroachments established illegally on the state land wererazed.

During the operation, which was participated by the staff of Enforcement Directorate backed by revenue staff of ICT and Police, 12 rooms, 10 boundary walls, three washrooms and two kitchens were demolished.

Furthermore, new construction in the area was also curtailed, says an official statement.

It said that special vigilance teams of Enforcement Directorate had also been constituted so that encroachments could not be cropped up again in the area.

The Malpur was acquired in 60s but still CDA could not get possession of acquired land, after resolving its issue with the locals. Some of the locals have been claiming that their dues are pending, while CDA officials say that the area has completely been acquired in 60s after clearing alldues thus the people living there are encroachers.
