Buner devises strategy for power load management

BUNER: The district administration has devised astrategyforelectricityload management at the lone grid station to avoid unscheduled power outages.

In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Zareeful Mani held meetings with Pesco officers, owners of marble factories and elected representatives in presence of journalists here on Thursday.

All the stakeholders agreed that electricity from Swari grid station would be distributed equally among consumers in the district.

As per formula, marble factories will voluntary minimise use of electricity during Ramazan to give relief to domestic consumers. The meeting decided to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply of electricity to people during Iftar and Sehr.

The participants of meeting said that grid station officials would have complete schedule of loadshedding along with feeders` specification and timeframe so that the consumers couldinformed timely about the situation.

The stal(eholders agreed that loadshedding schedule would be shared well in time with assistant commissioners of four tehsils and ADC Syed Kazim Hussain Shah being the focal person at district level.

The deputy commissioner claimed that the strategy would help to ensure smooth power supply to consumers. He said that scheduled loadshedding would improve voltage and tubewells would be run to meet the demand for drinking water at homes and mosques.

It is pertinent to mention here that in the recent past and last year Ramazan, the local people spent most of their time on roads to protest unscheduled and prolonged power loadshedding and low voltage.

On few occasions, the angry protesters attacked government installations and also faced wrath of district administration and police. Some of the protesters and passers-by also received serious injuries.

The hours-long road blocked by protesters also caused problems to transporters and commuters.
