KARACHI: An antiterrorism court on Tuesday issued warrants for the arrest of the investigation officers of two cases pertaining to possession of explosive substance and extortion.

Accused Abdul Sattar has been charged with allegedly carrying explosives in the Sachal area.

In the second case, another accused, Ibrahim, along with his accomplices has been booked for allegedly demanding protection money and carrying illicit weapons in 2014 in Gulshani-Iqbal.

Inspectors Ismail Lashari and Ali Mohammad are the investigation officers of the two cases and despite repeated court orders they failed to appear in court to record their statements.

Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso of the ATC-I issued non-bailable arrest warrants against the IOs and directed the police high-ups to arrest and produce them in court on the next hearing.
