LAHORE: The Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs14.86 billion under the head of Administration of Justice for Lahore High Court, sessions courts, civil courts and special courts in the next fiscal.
Under the head of Public Oder and Safety Affairs, the government also allocated Rs19.67bn for law courts, Rs18.58bn for courts/justice for the next year. Out of the allocated budget of Rs14.86bn for Administration of Justice, a sum of Rs16.8m has been allotted to Lahore High Court, Rs5.42bn to sessions courts, Rs9.22bn to civil courts, Rs158.5m to special courts and Rs35.2m to courts of small causes.
The government also allocated a sum of Rs801.8m for attorney/legal services, which include Rs43.1m forSolicitor`s Department, Rs415.8m for Mufassil establishment and Rs342.8m for Advocate General office. A sum of Rs283m has been allocated for the Punjab Judicial Academy.
On the non-development side, the government has allocated a sum of Rs3.1bn for employee-related expenses, including Rs1.3bn for salaries of judges and other staff. The government also allocate d Rs1.34bn under the head of Ad hoc Relief Allowance-2016 for high court employees.
A sum of over Rs5bn has been allocated for employees related expenses of sessions courts while Rs8.8bn for civil courts. The government allocated Rs305.5m for salaries and other expenses of Advocate General of fice. Staff Reporter
