Communist leader`s autobiography soon

LAHORE: The autobiography by Abdul Rauf Malik, one of the founding members of Communist Party of Pakistan, will be published soon.

Born in Lahore`s famous mohallah Kocha Chabakswaraan on Oct 1, 1926, Mr Malik was a member of the Communist Party of India.

A younger brother of celebrated writer Abdullah Malik and nephew of Fazal Elahi Qurban, Mr Malik got exposed to progressive ideas at an early stage along with his class fellow ShamimAshraf Malik.

He also enjoyed the company of early communists and progressive personalities such as Mian Iftikharuddin, Teja Singh Sotantar, Eric Cyprian, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Sohan Singh Josh, Sajjad Zaheer, Dada Ferozuddin Mansur, Zaheer Kashmiri, Ahmad Rahi, Sadat Hasan Manto, C.R. Aslam, Khawaja Masood and Zafarullah Poshni.

In the upcoming autobiography, Mr Malik reminisces about early communists and progressive personalities and will add a new chapter to the communist literature of Pakistan.
